“Social” Networking

Last week I deactivated my Facebook.
I knew right when I did it that I had made a good decision, but I would be lying if I said I hadn’t thought about a few times since Thursday.
The thing was, I kept avoiding real life stuff, family, kids, work, in order to scroll slowly through everyone’s daily news. I was starting to notice that my social networking was anything but social. Sure, it kept me in touch with people I barely know anymore, but it kept me at a further distance with the people I actually see everyday.
So, on day 5 with no Facebook, I’m here to say I think I made the right decision for myself. I’m sure people with more self control can handle this form of connection, but for me, I’m going to live old school… Phone calls and text messages.
Operation no Facebook continues… And I’m loving every minute of it!
